Alise and Voldemars Skulte were natives of Latvia. They studied fine arts in Europe, in particular, the styles and technique of the impressionists.
In 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Skulte came to the United States where they both continued their art studies at the New York City College and privately under the well-known European painter Professor Ludorfs Liberts.
They exhibited in many art shows in Paris, New York, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco and at the John Hurron Museum in Indianapolis, Reading Public Museum, the New York and Montreal World Fairs. In fact, Voldemars painting "New York Harbor" was awarded Prix de Paris 1962.
Both artists are represented in many private collections in the United States, Canada and Europe.
